Today I finally received the title, registration, and another document for my 1502. Everything is in German/Dutch. I tried google lens/translate it only gets some of the words because of the sort of paper they are on (the watermarks are all letters/words). Any ideas on how I would translate them other than going word by word?

Do you live near a large university? Maybe contact their foreign language department and ask for help? Offering to pay should garner more positive response.

Ok, bad idea maybe. My local CL has no translating offerings where they should be.

Services>write/ed/tran

Fail

See the other university suggested

If you work at a reasonable sized company someone there will speak German.  Ask around. That’s how I got the docs from my Mini translated from Japanese. Depending on the region you live in your local high school might have a German class. See if you could hook up with the class. Good luck! Great looking car.

I’m Dutch. How long are the documents and are you looking for a full translation or do you just need specific things pointed out to complete paperwork for import/registration?

They’re short documents. There is so little on the tile that I’m just going word for word. I don’t think that I need anything for import I’m just curious as to what the documents say/mean.

I could be wrong, but just an FYI, I’ve heard before (and again, I could be wrong) that some places require documents be professionally translated by a certified translator for import , so if you went the simple Google Translate on your phone-type path, it may not be accepted! Might want to look into that before the car arrives!

The exporters/importers haven’t said anything about it so I’m sure that its fine and or covered under what I’ m paying them as far as import but I’m definitely going to ask them and then also the state DMV. Thanks!
